Many years ago as I was in the process of redoing my website for the umpteenth time, I was hit with the inspiration to insert something about my spiritual beliefs in the website. This was at a time when I was just beginning my journey into spirituality and was very, very careful who I mentioned my woo-woo beliefs to. I teetered with the decision of whether or not to take this daring action, and finally chose to add a section called “Spiritual Stuff”, consisting of a few of my channeled writings.

As soon as the redo of my website was online, I emailed one of my best friends, who had been a psychic by trade for over 20 years, and asked her to take a look at it and let me know her thoughts about it. She emailed me back almost instantly, saying that I couldn’t do something like that - put my spiritual beliefs on my website - because it would freak people out.

Freak people out?

I was stunned. This was not the reaction I expected from a woman who made her living from her spirituality. As I pondered the situation, I thought about how Christians have no qualms about putting little fish symbols or crosses on their websites... and everywhere else for that matter.

“How unfair that they can display their religious beliefs without fear of freaking people out, and yet spiritual beliefs are deemed socially unacceptable, ” I thought.

Motivated by the energy of my anger that this unfairness stirred up for me, I not only kept Spiritual Stuff on my website, I emailed everyone I knew and asked them to take a look at my new website.

The result was not what I feared. No one told me that I was so weird they never wanted to talk to me again. As a matter of fact, it was quite the opposite. Many thanked me for my courage and said it inspired them to do the same. Soon, complete strangers were emailing me to tell me that they had visited my website and they loved the Spiritual Stuff.

I had come out of my Cosmic Closet... and it wasn’t as scary as I had feared.

Actually, it was turning out to be pretty wonderful, as more and more people thanked me for sharing the Spiritual Stuff on my website.

You, too, may have a Cosmic Closet.

A Cosmic Closet is any fear that holds you back from sharing your spiritual beliefs with others. This fear may be a result of the programming you received from your parents, teachers, family, friends, the media, and many other outside sources. It may be rooted in past lifetimes, in which you suffered for your beliefs, took vows to protect them, and perhaps were even tortured or killed because of them. Whatever the reason or cause, the result is fear and hesitance about sharing your core beliefs with others... unless, that is, you know for certain that they’re of like mind and it’s safe for you to speak your truth.

The truth is that if you don’t come out of your Cosmic Closet, you’re missing out on opportunities to share your Light with others who may need it.

You have a purpose this lifetime to be of service to others. You may be a healer using Reiki or another form of alternative healing as your vehicle for being of service to others. Or maybe you’re a psychic with the ability to give people guidance from a source of higher wisdom to help them through their life challenges. If you don’t speak freely and openly of your ability, how many people are not going to ever know about it? How many of those people might you have been able to help?

Additionally, when you gather up your courage and step out of the safety of your Cosmic Closet by speaking of your spirituality to others, you empower them to do the same and to come out of their Cosmic Closet. In turn, they then become empowered to assist others to also step out of their Cosmic Closet... and the empowerment radiates outward exponentially.

Step out of your Cosmic Closet today and share your Light with someone. You’ll both be glad you did.
